Canva Design Essentials
Show & Tell
Messenger link:https://m.me/j/Aba03W959sKuR1Oy/ LINE Chat Link:https://line.me/R/ti/g/gCWwQJK9Bg
Thank you all for participating in the Lele Pen Pal Project. This is an activity we have all been looking forward to. 😊In this fast-paced digital era, the purpose of the Lele Pen Pal activity is to give children an opportunity to practice output after shared reading or reading the Lele Listening Book Series, and to experience the slower pace of correspondence. We hope to encourage and spark children's curiosity. In a society that is fast and concrete, we want to leave some blank space for children, allowing them to do nothing, to imagine, and to begin creating.✉️ Please note, there will also be another email sent today is the detail for your allocated family. If you did not receive their detail, please contact us immediately.
Project Timeline:
1. Sign-up
📅Deadline: June 25
Each child needs to complete a separate registration form. For example, if you have four children participating, you’ll need to fill out four forms. After submitting each form, you’ll receive a copy in your email inbox, which you can use as a reference when filling out the next one.
👉Sign up Ended
📍We encourage to use pen names to protect privacy.
2. Pen Pal Matching
📅Completed by June 30
Matches will be made based on registration details, the child’s language level, age, and wish list preferences.
3. Prepare Letter
📅Completed by July 15
📖 Choose a Le Le Book: Pick one red or yellow Le Le book as your theme, or write freely.
✏️ Drawing and Writing: Draw a picture based on the theme or write a letter. Writing just a few words is great (for kids 7 and up, we encourage writing words from the red Le Le books, but there’s no need to force a certain amount).
📷 Take a Photo: Please photograph the letter contents. If the letter gets lost, you’ll have a digital copy to send via email as a backup.
4. Digital Copy submission
📅Sent July 15
Set the file name as requested and upload the digital copy to google form Digital Copy Upload File name format: 2025-07-22-Mary to Rose
5. Mailing the Letter
📅Sent July 15
✉️ Prepare the Envelope: Write the postal code and address on the envelope (parents are encouraged to guide children in addressing the envelope together).
📨 Add a Regular Stamp: Postage should follow local postal regulations.
📮 Find a Mailbox: Take your child to find a nearby mailbox and drop the letter together.
6. Waiting with Excitement
📅Wait for 2~3 weeks
Look forward to receiving a letter from your new friend!
You can decide how long to wait (about three weeks is recommended). If the letter doesn’t arrive, parents can print out the digital copy and place it in your home mailbox.
When the letter arrives, parents and children can enjoy reading the pen pal’s letter together.
Please cherish the Lele family you have been paired with and work together to build a good friendship. Before we begin, there are a few guidelines for everyone to follow:
- Since we are all overseas families and mail can sometimes get lost, please print out a digital copy for your child. After sending the physical letter, parents must upload the letter content to the [Uploading digital copy for Lele Pen Pal Project] form.
- Please keep your letters friendly and caring.
- Families participating short-term will be paired with others who have also registered as short-term (one month). If you wish to extend the short-term participation, you must wait for the other party’s agreement or for a new long-term family to sign up; the waiting time is uncertain.
- For long-term participants, if your child does not want to write a letter for the month, parents can write to the other child. This ensures that the other child can still receive a letter and increases opportunities for reading and literacy.
- Letters may only include paper items (letter paper, origami, etc.). Please do not send photos or documents involving personal privacy.
- If you wish to show your penpal what you look like, children may draw themselves.
Please participate in official Lele online events to meet your penpal, such as art classes or Show & Tell.
- Be creative with your letter content. You may print words from Lele books for children to cut and paste (handwriting is not required).
- If you are unable to continue participating, please notify the Lele mailbox for further arrangements.
- We encourage parents to also read theLe Le Listening and Reading System and create freely with their children.
Use this opportunity to guide your child in writing polite letters and addresses. If you are unsure what to write, you can refer to activities in the Le Le Listening and Reading System or newsletter. For example:
- If your child wants to know what the other likes, help them come up with questions. Start with key words like “Do you like…?” so the recipient can guess the meaning. Next time, you’ll know what the Lele Pen Pal likes.
- If your child draws a picture of a family outing, you can add a letter explaining where you went and what you did. The recipient can look at the picture and read the explanation, increasing reading and literacy opportunities.
Please work together to protect and support each other’s children. Lele Culture Co., Ltd. reserves the right to terminate correspondence for any families who violate the rules or cause harm.
